I have enjoyed going to Redbird for dinner but never tried it for brunch.After some tossing around between RB and Yardbird Southern table , I decided to avoid the 10 freeway and headed to this trendy downtown place.I had made reservations for 1:30 pm the same day but I don't think it is necessary as the place can easily accommodate walk ins specially at the long bar.There is free metered parking within short walking distance and one can skip the $12 valet.They had opened the mechanical roof so there was a nice indoor outdoor atmosphere.The menu had the beloved blueberry ricotta pancakes from now closed BLD ( same owner Neil Fraser) and they are huge from what I can see from the other tables so it is a good idea to get one for the table to share ( feeds easy 3 people).I ordered:-Confit duck chilaquiles with mole avocado and fried egg: classic breakfast item , nice flavor but I would have liked to get and taste more duck: kind of lost in the mix.- Spanish scramble with chorizo, lomo, manchego and tiny classic and purple potatoes: again same thing ( where is the lomo? We were very well taken care of this time around...thanks Chris!!!
